John Robert "Bob" Begin

Manchester------John Robert „Bob‰ Begin, 73, of 29 Carver Street, Laconia and Wellington Road, Manchester died at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester on Wednesday, October 30, 2002.

Mr. Begin was born in Laconia, NH on August 12, 1929, the son of

Ernest and Blanche (Lachance) Begin. He served in the U. S. Air Force and had been a resident of Manchester for 44 years.

Mr. Begin was a salesman for C.A. Hoitt Furniture Co. and for Leavitt&Mac226;s Furniture Store and was a buyer for Gorin's Furniture Store.

Mr. Begin was a member of the League Of A Thousand Men Of The Precious Blood. He was also a member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2.

Survivors include two grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Plourde, both of Gilmanton; three great grandsons, Parker Plourde, Zachary Plourde, and Jordan Plourde; a sister, Arlene Begin of Laconia; his fiancée, Frances Spiewak, of Manchester. and a son-in-law, Gary Plourde of Gilmanton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Valerie Plourde, in 1998.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia on Monday, November 4, 2002 at 11:30AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery, Franklin, NH

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
