Clyde W. Angers

Laconia, NH--------Clyde W. Angers, 85, of 168 Pine Street Ext. and a former long-time resident of Gilford, NH died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, October 3, 2002.

Mr. Angers was born July 15, 1917 in Laconia, NH, in the same house he resided in at the time of this death. He was the son of Walter and Irma (Labbe) Angers. He was a press operator and mechanic at Carpenter-Paterson for 19 years before he retired in February, 1984. He was a special police officer in Gilford, Laconia, and New Hampton for over 30 years.

Mr. Angers had been an avid camper since 1963 and held the position of Assistant State Director of the Good Sam Club for nine years and also held various other chapter offices. He was a member of the N. H. Wanders since 1973 and started the Gunstock Travelers Chapter. He was active in the Police Torch Run and other activities of the Special Olympics for several years and was a member of the Belknap County Sportsman&Mac226;s Association and the Belknap Snowmobile Association.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anita M. (Woodward) Angers of Laconia; a son, Randolph „Randy‰ Angers and his wife, Jean Tucker Angers of Tilton, NH and a daughter, Kay L. (Angers) Mahoney and her husband, Robert Mahoney, of Laconia; 7 grandchildren, Traci Mahoney, Robert Mahoney, Kim Lavigne and Kenneth Angers all of Laconia, Michael Angers of Tilton, Joni Avery of Franklin and Lori Keith of Sanbornton; 19 great grandchildren, Robert, William and David Mahoney and Kattrina Lavigne all of Laconia, Randy, Ernest, Rodney and Kenneth Avery all of Franklin, Jason, Megan, Sara, Joseph and Jennifer Keith of Sanbornton; Rryan Angers of Charlestown, Katelyn Angers of Tilton, David and Danielle Angers of Laconia and Alisha and Scott Angers of Tilton; three brothers, Walter Angers of Boise, ID, Carl Angers of Smithville, TX and Eddie Angers of Perkinsville, Vermont; a sister, Elaine Atherton of Concord; his two sidekicks, his dogs, Heidi and Tequila. He was predeceased by five brothers, Wallace, Lewis, Earl, Raymond and Harold Angers and a sister, Dorothy Chadwick.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia. Rev. Sharron Lamothe, pastor of The United Baptist Church of Lakeport, will officiate.
