Moultonborough------Jacqueline L. Ober Donaldson, 93, of 19 Merrivale Rd, Moultonborough died, surrounded by her family, November 3, 2008 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.

Jackie (as everyone called her) was born in Laconia, NH on January 5, 1915, the daughter of Raymond and Iva (Davis) Lakeman.

Jackie was an outdoor nature-lover and enthusiast. She enjoyed fishing, walking, skiing and snowshoeing through the woods. Jackie loved to make people laugh and will be remembered for her great sense of humor and funny story telling abilities.

During her high school years, she was an usher at the Colonial Theater, Laconia. She worked for many years in the Dept. of Employment Security. Jackie worked from 1944 to 1959 for the Veterans Administration in the Forestry Building. After the Veterans Administration closed their Laconia office, she went to work for the Lakes Region General Hospital as an intake worker in the Outpatient/Emergency Dept., working until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

After retiring, Jackie moved to her country home in Moultonborough and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Ober) Harris and son-in-law, Paul Harris, of Laconia; five granddaughters, Sara L. Harris of Laconia, Jessica L. Harris of Deerfield, Leah L. Harris of Laconia, Heather L. Harris of Laconia and Tara L. Harris of Laconia; a brother, Raymond Lakeman, of Gilford and several nephews and nieces.

Jackie was predeceased by her first husband, Chester Ober, who died in 1981, by her second husband, Stuart Donaldson, who died in 1991 and by two brothers, Richard Lakeman and John ( Jake) Lakeman.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia, N.H.

Memorial donations may be made to the N.H. Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N.H. 03247-0572.
