Arnold N. Deshaies

Sanbornton-----Arnold N. Deshaies, 92, formerly of 43 Bayshore Drive, died at the Franklin Regional Hospital, Franklin, NH on Friday, November 3, 2006. He was the widower of Lucille E. (Poire) Deshaies who died April 20, 1999. Mr. Deshaies was born December 24, 1913 in Franklin, NH, the son of Lucien D. and Georgiana (Pinard) Deshaies. Mr. Deshaies lived most of his life in the Laconia. He was employed at Scott & Williams for thirty-four years and was a member of the Scott & Williams Quarter Century Club. He retired in 1975. He spent much of his spare time fishing on Lake Winnisquam. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr Deshaies was a talented woodworker and remodeled his homes with large and complex projects. For ten years he repaired TV’s and HiFi equipment. He was a self taught, hardworking and independent French Catholic.

Mr. Deshaies was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Deshaies, and a daughter, Rene D. Larrivee, both of Laconia; seven grandchildren, Marc Deshaies of Belmont, Andrea Deshaies-Couture of Manchester, Renee Tessier of Belmont, Danielle Thurber of OH, Russell Larrivee of OH, Denise Steinkrauss of MA and Alan Larrivee of ME; 22 great grandchildren, Micah Deshaies of Keene, Josiah Deshaies of Laconia, Marlinda Deshaies of Laconia, Samantha Dionne of Laconia, Alexander Dionne of Belmont, Jasmine Bixby of OH, Keagan Andrews of Franklin, Theresa McDonald of MA, Russell Larrivee of MA, Michael Larrivee of Nashua, Paul Larrivee of Nashua, Christina Sgarioni of Nashua, Thomas Larrivee of OH, John Larrivee of OH, Peter Larrivee of OH,Catherine Larrivee of OH, Matthew Larrivee of OH, Andrew Larrivee of OH, Kimberley Damon of NY, Cynthia Steinkrauss of MA, Nichole Larrivee of VA and Jillian Larrivee also of VA; 10 great, great grandchildren, Joseph McDonald, Luke McDonald, Allison McDonald, Megan McDonald, Mary McDonald, George McDonald, Brigid McDonald, Emma Larrivee all of MA,Lillian Larrivee and Kalven Larrivee both of VA; a brother, Bertrand Deshaies of Franklin.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 6, 2006 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Parish, Belmont, NH. Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MT Ridge Center Genesis Eldercare, Activities Fund, 7 Baldwin Street, Franklin, NH 03235.
