John F. Hunter

Laconia———John F. Hunter, 79, formerly of Laconia died at the N. H. Veterans Home in Tilton on Sunday, March 3, 2002. He was the widower of A. Shirley (Bunker) Hunter who died in 1996.

Mr. Hunter was born November 12, 1922 in Bronxville, New York, the son of William and Minerva (O’Brien) Hunter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in New York for many years and was a volunteer fireman in Tuckahoe, New York. He was a salesman for General Motors in the Cadillac Motor Division. Mr. Hunter moved to Laconia, NH about 22 years ago. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1670 of Laconia.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Rowley, of Gilmanton, NH; two grandchildren, Hunter Christian Rowley and Seth Jared Rowley both of Gilmanton, NH; two brothers, Robert Hunter and James Hunter both of East Chester, New York; three sisters, Ann Blum and Peggy Reid both of East Chester, New York and May McGovern of Florida; and many nephews and nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial service will be held in the spring in New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be mace to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032
