Joseph W. Plourde

Laconia——Joseph “Bill” W. Plourde, 71, of 17 Dolloff Street, died at his home , Saturday, March 16, 2002. He was the widower of Jacqueline B. (Smith) Plourde who died in 1999.

Mr. Plourde was born May 1, 1930 in Rumford, Maine, the son of Arthur R. and Esther M. (Jordan) Plourde. He had been a resident of Laconia since 1934.

Mr. Plourde served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wilkins-Smith Post #1 American Legion of Laconia and was a call fireman for the city of Laconia for many years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

Mr. Plourde had been a machinist for 40 years retiring in 1992. He first was employed at Scott & Williams and late at the New Hampshire Ballbearinc Inc. Astro Division.

Survivors include 2 daughters Deborah L. Brewer and Pamela J. Plourde both of Laconia; a son Robert F. Plourde of Laconia; grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Robert A. Plourde and Richard “Dick” J. Plourde and a sister Marie E. Moore.

Calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, Tuesday, March 19, 2002 from 6-9 PM using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Laconia, Wednesday at 10 AM. The Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski, Pastor of the church will officiate. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
