Brenda M. Kraft

Sanbornton——-Mrs. Brenda M. (Wilson) Kraft, 75, of 4 Huse Road, died at her home on March 31, 2002.

Mrs. Kraft was born July 18, 1926 in Valley City, N.D., the daughter of the late Harold L. and Myrtie G. (Halverson) Wilson.

Mrs. Kraft attended Alfred University and received both B.S. and Masters in Education Degrees from Hofstra University. She taught English, History and Art in high schools in Elmont and Franklin Square, New York. She was a longtime resident of Floral Park, New York before moving to Sanbornton, NH in 1984.

Mrs. Kraft served as Welfare Director and a Library Trustee in Sanbornton. She was active in the Sanbornton Bay Circle of Home and Family, ABC Quilts, and the First United Methodist Church, Gilford. She was instrumental in bringing the ABC Quilt program to the Lakes Region Correctional Institute. In addition, Mrs. Kraft was an ardent rug hooker. She was an accredited teacher in the Pearl McGown Guild and taught rug hooking in a one room school house on her property in Sanbornton.

Survivors include her husband, David Kraft of Sanbornton, three daughters; Nancy Reich and her husband, Michael, of Glendale Heights, IL, Barbara Kraft of Concord, NH, Patricia Kraft of Sanbornton, NH, and a son, David W. Kraft and his companion, John Milnes, both of Kendall Park, N. J.; three grandchildren, Sara, Amanda, and Jacob Reich; a sister, Synnova Walker, brothers-in-law, William A. Kendall and Charles A. Kraft, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Stuart N. Wilson, a sister, Charlotte (Pat) Kendall, and a niece, Sheri Metzler.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 from 6-8PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at 10:00AM at the First United Methodist Church 500 Gilford Avenue, Gilford, NH. Rev. Victoria Wood Parrish, Pastor of the church, will officiate.
