Tilton------Raymond Ernest Smith, Jr., 53, of 20 Shady Lane, died at his home on Friday, May 9, 2008.

Mr. Smith was born May 1, 1955 in Chelsea, Mass., the son of Raymond E. and Mary Winifred (Healey) Smith.

Mr. Smith grew up in Jamestown, Rhode Island and moved to New Hampshire in 2001.  He was employed at New England Copier Specialists for four years and at IKON for thirteen years before he retired in March, 2005 due to illness.

Mr. Smith enjoyed woodworking, skiing, boating, photography and the New England Patriots.  He was a former member of the Tilton Planning Board.

Mr. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laconia-Gilford.  

Survivors include his wife, Kathrine Kay (Lewis) Smith; his mother, Mary W. Smith; three brothers, Carl Smith, Robert Smith and Mark Smith; a sister, Maureen Morlen; five nieces and two nephews.  Mr. Smith was predeceased by his father, Raymond E. Smith.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 5:00PM at the First United Methodist Church Laconia-Gilford, Rte 11A, Gilford, N.H.  Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 7408, Gilford, N.H. 03247 or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
