Ann Mary (Walsh) Merwin

Laconia, N.H.----Anne Mary (Walsh) Merwin, 87, of 406 Court Street, Bishop Bradley Apartments, and formerly of Flushing, New York, died at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Friday, May 2, 2008. 

Mrs. Merwin was born July 26, 1920 in New York, New York, the daughter of William and Clotilda (Donohue) Walsh.  She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and was employed as an administrative assistant at Catholic Guardian for twenty years, retiring in 1990.  She resided in New York City for most of her life before moving to New Hampshire thirteen years ago.   

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Catherine Merwin, of Meredith, N.H.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gregory Nigri, of Holbrook, N.Y.; three grandchildren, SSG Brian P. Merwin, U.S. Army and his wife, Megan Merwin, of Fayettevile, N.C., Jonathan Merwin of Portsmouth, N.H. and Alexandra Merwin of Meredith, N.H.; one great grandson, William C. Merwin, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Merwin was predeceased by her husband, Howard Merwin, in 1971, by five sisters, Lillian, Catherine, Helen, Mary and Margaret and by three brothers, John, William and Edward.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 406 Court Street, Laconia, N.H. at a later date.

Burial will be in the family lot in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Patio Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, N.H. 03246.
