Gilford-----Diane E. Milligan, 56, of 51 River Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, N.H. on Sunday, February 24, 2008.

         Mrs. Milligan was born July 26, 1951 in Medford, Mass., the daughter of Elizabeth (Bent) and Frank Pontifex, Sr.  She was raised and attended  school in Medford and moved to Gilford thirty-four years ago.

         Mrs. Milligan was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport and was a member of the Lakes Region General Hospital Nursery Guild and the Laconia Country Club.  She enjoyed boating and snow skiing.

         Survivors include her husband of thirty-seven years, Paul Milligan, of Gilford; her parents of Medford, Mass.; four sons, Michael P. Milligan of Frisco, Texas, Kevin J. Milligan and his significant other, Alyssa McRell, of Laconia,  Daniel T. Milligan of Gilford and Steven R. Milligan also of Gilford; a granddaughter, Lilly Milligan of Laconia; a brother, Frank Pontifex, Jr. of Malden, Mass.; a sister, Karen Scalisi, of Medford, Mass.; three nephews and two nieces.

         Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

         A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, N.H. by Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church.

         Spring burial will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to the Lakes Region General Hospital, Oncology Department, 80 Highland Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
