David Ernest Cooke, Jr.

Gilmanton, NH---Cooke, David Ernest, Jr., 27, of Gilmanton, died on Friday May 4, 2007 after a boating accident. Lifelong resident of Rhode Island, until moving to New Hampshire one year ago.

Born in Providence, RI, the son of Mary (Roche) Cooke and the late David E. Cooke Sr.

He was employed with Auburn Tool & Die and Tower Manufacturing for many years. His dream was to follow in his fathers footsteps and work alongside him to expand the family business.

He was a machinist by trade, a loving son, a devoted brother, and a loyal friend. He was a sport enthusiast who loved to play basketball, but also loved just to hang out with his friends.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers and sisters Heather J. Hyllested of Warwick RI, Michael S. Cooke of Hill, NH, Joshua R. Cooke and Laura E. Cooke both of Gilmanton, NH; his maternal grandmother, Marguerite Roche of Foster, RI; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. He was also the grandson of the late John and Glenah (Hathaway) Cooke.

Calling hours for David and his father, David, Sr., will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007 from 6:00-9:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H, using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

Liturgy of the Word for David, Jr. and David, Sr. will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, NH on Saturday May 12, 2007 at 10:30AM.

Burial will follow in Smith Meeting House Cemetery, Meeting House Road, Gilmanton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the David Cooke Memorial Fund c/o Meredith Village Savings Bank, 379 South Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
