Douglas E. Houle

Gilmanton----Douglas E. Houle, 54, of 112 Deer Drive, died at the Concord Hospice House, Concord on Thursday, May 10, 2007 with his loving wife at his side.

Mr. Houle was born February 7, 1953 in Laconia, NH, the son of George J. and Barbara M. (Rogers) Houle.  He served in the U. S. Navy.

Mr. Houle was a life long resident of the Lakes Region.  He was employed at Pemi Glass in Meredith for many years and later was employed at Art’s Power Equipment.

Mr. Houle was a member of the Rod & Gun Club of Laconia.  He enjoyed working on his truck with his buddies and riding his sportster.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene J. (Bean) Houle, of Gilmanton, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Renee Houle, of Franklin, NH; two stepsons, David Bean of Laconia and Francis Marden of Belmont; one stepdaughter, Amy Chaffee of Laconia; his father and stepmother, George J. and Jeanette Houle, of Laconia; eight grandchildren, Orion, Damien Houle, Tyler Hunter and Kailey Bean and Clinton & Jennifer Chaffee and Jeffrey Caldon Marden; four sisters, Virginia McMillan and Jackie Columbus, both of Indiana, Gretchen Houle and Tracey Gilbert, both of Laconia and many nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his mother, by a brother, Jeffrey Joseph Houle and by a stepdaughter, Jasmin Jade Marden.

According to Mr. Houle’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
