Gilmanton----Mrs. Margie R. Smithers, 74, of 789 Province Road died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, May 16, 2004.

Mrs. Smithers was born July 15, 1929 in Acton, Maine, the daughter of Horace and Marsha (Hurd) Mee.  She was employed at Globe Manufacturing in Pittsfield for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Smithers, III of Gilmanton; two sons, Raymond Robertson of Grover, Wyoming and Lee Robertson of Smoot, Wyoming; a daughter, Patricia Kindel, of Rineyville, Kentucky; two step sons, Thomas W. Smithers IV of Gilmanton, Terrence J. Smithers of Phoenix, Arizona; a stepdaughter, Tracy J. Davis, of Maricopa, Arizona; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, George Mee of Acton, Maine and Charles Mee of Wassaic, New York; two sisters, Olive Tredwell of Acton, Maine and Nancy Webster of Derry, NH and many nephews and nieces.  She was predeceased by a stepson, Timothy J. Smithers in 1992.      

There will be no calling hours

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Beech Grove Cemetery, Gilmanton, NH.  Rev. Linda Bolton, pastor of the Gilmanton Community Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilmanton Fire-Rescue, PO Box 128, Gilmanton Iron works, NH 03837
