Sanbornton-----Alice M. Smith, 86, of 38 Oak Hill Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 after a long illness.

Mrs. Smith was born December 8, 1922 in Malden, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Atkins) Watson. She lived in Venice, Florida for several years before moving to Sanbornton twenty years ago.

Mrs. Smith was an artist and potter and was an avid gardener and decorator.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Robert W. Smith, of Sanbornton; a son, Tom O’Neill, and his wife, Margie, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; two daughters, Sharon Dugan and her husband, Dave Nickerson, of Sanbornton; Coreen Navoy and her husband, Peter, of Sanbornton; three granddaughters, Debra Aja of Hot Springs, North Carolina; Sharon Akerstrom and her husband, Mark, of Canterbury and Karin Scott and her husband, Eric, of Sanbornton; two great grandchildren, Travis Akerstrom, of Canterbury and Emma Coreen Scott of Sanbornton and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by five brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter, Susan Coreen Webster.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 1:00-3:00PM
In the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

There will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
