Laconia, N.H.-----Donald R. Mardin, 75, of 228 Wellington Dr. died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Lakes Region General Hospital.

Don was born June 9, 1933 in Lisbon, N.H. He was the son of Lawrence and Barbara (Wilkins) Mardin. He had been a resident of the Lakes Region for the past thirteen years coming from Georgetown, Conn.

Don served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a boat yard manager for many years for the Yacht Haven West Marina in Stamford, Conn.
Don was very proud to serve in the US Navy. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his dog.

Don is survived by his wife Judith (Boyle) Mardin of Laconia; a son, Richard Mardin of Watertown, Conn.; three daughters, Wanda Mardin of Fairfield, Conn., Connie Reinders of Florida and Joyce Botelho of Danbury, Conn.; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Russell Mardin of Whitefield, NH.: a sister Joan Woodbury of Bethlehem, NH. and several nieces and nephews.

There will no calling hours.

A funeral service will be on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 1:00PM in the Chapel at the N.H. State Veteran’s Cemetery, Rt.3 Boscawen, N.H.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Two Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, N.H. 03110.
