Beverley Burney Curtis

Center Barnstead-----Beverley Burney Curtis, 83, of 3 Beaver Pond Drive, died on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Genesis Eldercare, Laconia Center, Laconia, N.H., following a critical illness.

Mrs. Curtis was born March 29, 1925 in Concord, NH, the eldest of four children, of Glen and Doris Burney. She was a graduate of Concord High School. On February 22, 1946, she married Robert James Curtis.

Mrs. Curtis worked as a teller for the Meredith Savings Bank, was secretary for the Visiting Nurses Association and was a bookkeeper for Annalee Dolls when they first started. She frequently would bring the wire forms for the dolls home to work on with her family. She frequently talked about her work with Annalee Dolls. She was a member of the Rainbow Society. In 1979, she moved to Clearwater, Florida with her husband after he retired. There she became very involved with the Pinewood Village Association serving as their secretary. Beverley thoroughly enjoyed her time working with the Philadelphia Phillies during their spring training in Clearwater, Florida. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and reading.

Mrs. Curtis loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her. She is survived by her son, Stephen Curtis, and his wife, Michaele; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Curtis; granddaughters, Lisa Anderson and her husband, Anthony, and Lori Curtis; a grandson, Dr. Blaine Curtis, and his wife, Monica, and granddaughter, Melanie Smith, and her husband, Jeffrey; step granddaughter, Mary Verrecchia-Delonde and her husband, Antwyne; great grandchildren, Shawn Anderson, Gregory Anderson and Ashley Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews and her favorite pet, Max. Mrs. Curtis was predeceased by her husband, Robert, eldest son, Glen, her parents, Glen and Doris Burney, and sisters, Betty Floyd, Marjorie Johns and Joey Haas.

At Mrs. Curtis’ request, there are to be no services. She will be cremated and her ashes will be spread over Branch Lake in Ellsworth, Maine during private family services in late spring/early summer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, N.H. 03110.
