Gilmanton-----With great sadness, Scott and Ida Bowen of Gilmanton announce the sudden and tragic loss of their beloved daughter, Chelsea Rae Bowen, on March 16, 2009. She was 15 years old.

Chelsea was born in Laconia on August 30, 1993 and her family lived in Alton, Rochester and Laconia before settling on Oak Street in Laconia. She attended the Holy Trinity School in Laconia, then the Pleasant Street School before moving to Gilmanton.

Chelsea graduated with High Honors from the Gilmanton School in June, 2008. She received the President’s Award for Academic Excellence, The Scholastic Art and Writing Award, the Nelson Family Award and the Art Award.

Chelsea was a freshman student at the Gilford High School. She loved art and cherished the company of her many dear friends.

Chelsea will be forever missed by her twin sister, Miranda, and younger sister, Brianna. Together they formed a trio of the closet friends imaginable.

Chelsea is also survived by her grandparents, Ira and Charlotte Locke, of Amesbury, Mass. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 3:00-6:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 2:00PM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chelsea R. Bowen Memorial Art Scholarship c/o Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO box 7312, Gilford, N.H. 03247-7312.
