Laconia----Dorothy L. Cotnoir, 91, of Laconia died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, March 29, 2009. Mrs. Cotnoir was the widow of Laurence E. Cotnoir who died in 1996.

Mrs. Cotnoir was born July 13, 1917 in Laconia, N. H., the daughter of Ralph and M. Laura (St. Cyr) Fifield. She had lived in the Lakes Region for most of her life.

Mrs. Cotnoir had been a very active member of the Laconia Congregational Church for many years. She was a Standing Delegate for three years, recipient of the Laconia Congregational Churchmanship Award in 1987, was a member of the Altar Guild, church historian, chair of the greeters, co-chair of the Women’s Fellowship and in 1988 was co-chair of the Christmas Fair. She was member of the membership committee for twelve years, serving as chair for six years and also helped serve communion at the nursing homes and to shut-ins.

Mrs. Cotnoir is survived by three sons, Robert L. Cotnoir of Belmont, Ralph E. Cotnoir of Nashville, Tenn. and Richard L. Cotnoir of East Swanzey; a daughter, Barbara C. Rasmussen, of Montrose, Colorado; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; twelve great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Cotnoir was predeceased by three sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 4:00-6:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia. Rev. Dr. Warren Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Congregational Church, Dorcas Fund, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
