Beverly (Anderson) Newell Send a condolence note

Belmont, N.H.-----Beverly (Anderson) Newell, Grandmother Morning Dove, 78, of 9 Durrell Mt. Road, died at her home on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 surrounded by family members.

Mrs. Newell was born February 24, 1930 in Center Harbor, N. H., the daughter of Rutherford B. and Dorothy (Nicholson) Anderson.  She was a descendent of the Micmac Tribe.

Mrs. Newell had been a resident of the Lakes Region for over sixty years.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She was a member of the N. H. Intertribal Native American Council and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1670 Women’s Auxiliary. 

Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Donald Newell, of Belmont; two sons, Peter Newell of Belmont and Michael Newell of  Belmont; one daughter, Susan Montmagny, of Grantham, NH; nine grandchildren, Julie Guarente, Jolene Price, Meredith Newell, Wesley Newell, Ben Montmagny, Elizabeth Montmagny, Jay Harris, Josh Newell and Katherine Gentes; three great grandchildren, Kyle Price, Jordanna Price and Nicholas Guarente; a brother, John Anderson, of  Laconia; three sisters, Eva Berwick of Belmont, Georgia Edwards of  Laconia and Lynda McKenna of Three Forks, Montana; numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family which includes the thousands she touched in the Native American and non-native community.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newell was predeceased by a son, Lyn F. Newell, by a brother, George Anderson, and by a sister, June Richardson.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 11:00AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1242 Old North Main Street, Laconia, N. H.  Bishop Dave Varney will officiate.

Burial will be in the N. H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N. H. Intertribal Native American Council (NHINAC) Scholarship Fund, PO Box #704, Center Ossipee, N. H. 03814.
