Gerard E. Bourassa Send a condolence note

Laconia-----Gerard E. Bourassa, 89, of 175 Blueberry Lane and a long time Laconia resident died at Genesis Eldercare – Laconia Center on Wednesday, March 12, 2008.  He was the widower of Mary A. (Florenzano) Bourassa who died in 2003.

Mr. Bourassa was born November 25, 1918 in Gorham, N.H., the son of Peter and Delphine (LeBel) Bourassa.  He lived in the Lakes Region for most of his life before moving to Bunnell, Florida in 1990.  He moved back to Laconia in 1997.

Mr. Bourassa served in the U. S. Army during WWII.  He was employed as a machinist at N. H. Ball Bearing-Astro Division for twelve years and was formerly employed at Scott & Williams for twenty-three years.

Survivors include three sons, David Bourassa and his wife, Nancy, of Laconia, N.H., Andrew Bourassa and his wife, Renee, of Warren, N.H. and Stephen Bourassa of the Caribbean; two grandchildren, Michael and Angela;  two great grandchildren, Jimi and Trystan; two brothers, Maurice Bourassa of Gorham, N. H. and Alfred Bourassa of Littleton, N.H.; a sister, Jane Koch, of Newport, Rhode Island; two nephews and four nieces.  In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bourassa was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Bourassa.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from -1-4PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 291Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H. on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11:30AM by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will follow in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rte. 3, Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, N. H. Office, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, N. H. 03110.
