Ruth E. Johnson

Laconia-----Ruth E. Johnson, 95, formerly of 221 Pleasant Street, died at the Congregate Living Center, Taylor Community, on Sunday, March 13, 2005. Miss Johnson was born January 27, 1910 in W. Somerville, MA, the daughter of Andrew W. & Lucy Ann (Quick) Johnson. She attended Somerville schools and graduated from the School of Practical Arts, Boston, MA. In 1936, she moved to Laconia and was a librarian at the Gale Memorial Library from 1950 until 1975. She also worked at the B. C. Hall Drug Store in Laconia.

Miss Johnson was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laconia-Gilford and was a member and former secretary of the Church Women's United. She was a local artist and a member of the Laconia Art Group.

Survivors include several cousins including Mary Ellen Johnson of Keene, NH.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 2:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union
Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Public Library, Campaign for the Second Century, PO Box 160, Laconia, NH 03247 0160.
