Patricia Mae Crockett

Belmont-----Patricia Mae ( Edmands) Crockett, 70, of School Street, died at the Concord Hospital, Concord on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Rodney S. Crockett who was Sheriff of Belknap County from 1956-1972.

Mrs. Crockett was born June 25, 1934 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Keith and Gertrude (Atkinson) Edmands.

Mrs. Crockett moved to Belmont in 1941 and graduated from Belmont High School in 1952. On August 29, 1953, she married Rodney S. Crockett. She worked for several years at Harp's Market in Belmont and worked for over eighteen years for the City of Laconia at the Youth Service Bureau, retiring in December, 1999. She continued as a volunteer from January, 2000 to June, 2003.

Mrs. Crockett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belmont. She was a past member of the Diaconite Board, a past Sunday school teacher, secretary of the Church's Executive Board and a member of the First Baptist Ladies Circle, serving as President from 2002-2004. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the Belmont Senior Center. She was a forty-nine year member of the Belmont Friendly Club which she joined in 1956 and for twenty years was a member and clerk of the Belmont Old Home Day. She especially enjoyed attending sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Crockett was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed seeing them win the World Series.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven H. & Melody Crockett and Michael R. & Jeannie Crockett all of Belmont, NH and Brian D. and Heidi Crockett of Gilmanton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and Peter Baldor of Richmond, Vermont; seven grandchildren, Adam Crockett and Andrew Crockett both of Belmont, NH, Chad Crockett, Cassie Crockett and Chelsea Crockett all of Gilmanton, NH, and Samuel Crockett Baldor and Alexander Caldarelli Baldor, both Richmond, Vermont; three sisters, Polly Murphy, Pamela Bilodeau and Penny Foley, all of Belmont, NH and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney S. Crockett, November 10, 1972.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 2:00-4:00PM and from 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Belmont, 49 Church Hill, Belmont, NH on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 11:00AM. Rev. Charles Crook, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Spring Burial will be in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Belmont, 49 Church Hill, Belmont, NH 03220 or to the Belmont Public Library, PO Box 308, Belmont, NH 03220.
