Sanbornton------Phyllis J. Cooke, 80, formerly of 83 Gray Road, died at the Belknap County Nursing Home, Laconia on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Mrs. Cooke was born February 16, 1925 in East Rockaway, Long Island, New York, the daughter of Edward A. and Sophia (Hultz) Talfor.

Mrs. Cooke lived in Lochmere, NH for several years before moving to Sanbornton over twenty years ago. Mrs. Cooke was employed at The Home Insurance Company for ten years.

Mrs. Cooke was an active member of the Second Baptist Church of Sanbornton, a former member of the Candia Congregational Church and a member of the Bible Study in Lochmere.

Mrs. Cooke is survived by her husband, Robert S. Cooke, Jr. of Laconia; two daughters, Debra J. Hardy of Tilton, NH and Pamela Watson of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; six grandchildren, Erin Hardy of Manchester, NH, Scot Hardy and his wife, Jenna, of Lima, Ohio, Bryn Hardy and PFC Sayr Hardy both of Tilton, NH and Bethany Jenkins and Darby Watson, both of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Hardy of Lima, Ohio and Zachery Jenkins, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one nephew; four nieces and a close cousin, Betty Elliot of California. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends and those who have had the privilege of knowing her.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 2:00-4:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Second Baptist Church of Sanbornton, Upper Bay Road, Sanbornton, NH. The Rev. Dr. Robert Robertson, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church of Sanbornton, Mission Fund, 298 Upper Bay Road, Sanbornton, NH 03269.
