Dorothy A. Long

Laconia-------Mrs. Dorothy A. Long, 87, of 31 Van Buren Road, Lakeport, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, June 17, 2002. Mrs. Long was the widow of Joseph Long who died in 1990.

Mrs. Long was born August 20, 1914 in Long Island, New York, the daughter of William and Augusta (Bott) Nielsen. She had been a resident of Lakeport since 1984 coming from Tuftonboro. She and her late husband owned and operated the Red Gate Lodges in Tuftonboro from 1947 to 1984.

Mrs. Long was a member of the Melvin Village Community Church and also a member of the Warren-Alpha Chapter #10 O.E.S.

Survivors include a son, Richard W. Long, of Belmont; a grandson, Jeffrey A. Long of Belmont; and three great grand children.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the Townhouse Cemetery, Route 109A in Tuftonboro, NH.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Warren-Alpha Chapter #10 O. E. S., PO Box 123, Melvin Village, NH 03850.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
