Meredith, N.H.-----H. Eileen Winn, 89, of 32 Barnard Ridge Rd. died at the Golden View Health Care Center on Monday, June 1, 2009. She was the widow of George P. Winn who was a WWII Veteran and a former Lawrence, Mass. Firefighter.
Eileen was born in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of John James Francis and Margaret (McKiernan) McCormick. She had lived in Meredith with her daughter and son-in-law for the past three years coming from Seabrook, N.H.
Eileen had worked for the Internal Revenue Service for twenty years until her retirement. Eileen had a lifelong dedication to the Catholic Church, she had been a communicant of the St. Augustine Church in Lawrence, Mass and also of the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Meredith, N.H. She enjoyed Decoupage’ and other related hobbies.
Survivors include a son, James M. Winn of Lisburn, Northern Ireland; three daughters, Kathleen M. (Edward) Allen of Georgia, Joan T. (Maury) Cosman of Medfield, Mass and Frances M. (Stephen) Carleton of Meredith; ten grandchildren, David Allen, Jessica Mooney, Caroline Allen, Kevin Winn, Stephen Carleton, Christopher Mazara, Caren Isabelle, Stacey Carleton, Fior Mazara and Ian Cosman; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas F. McCormick of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Helen L. Copage a sister Catherine Dooley and a brother, John McCormick.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, N.H. on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:00AM by Very Rev. Dennis J. Audet, V.F. Pastor of the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tribute Fund, NH Association for the Blind, McGreal Sight Center, 25 Walker Street, Concord, N.H. 03301-9977.
