Newport-----Pauline M. Decato, 73, of 44 Summer Street, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Mrs. Decato was the widow of Leo T. Decato who died in 1989.

Mrs. Decato was born February 15, 1936 in Laconia, N. H., the daughter of Hercules and Julia (Toutant) Gagne.

Mrs. Decato lived in Tilton for a number of years before moving to Newport six years ago. She had been employed at the Laconia State School and Training Center of over twenty years.

Mrs. Decato is survived by two sons, Michael T. Decato of Palmetto, Florida and Robert P. Decato, Hubert, N. C.; a daughter, Bernadine Sturtevant, of Newport, N. H. ; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Gagne of Largo, Florida and Gerald Gagne of Zephyrhills, Florida; two sisters, Alice Ferland of Rochester and Shirley Cloutier of Coco Beach, Florida and Belmont and many nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 5-8:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H using the Whipple Avenue Entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N. H. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00AM.

Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.
