Raymond "Ray" O. Simoneau

Laconia-----Raymond “Ray” O. Simoneau, 75, of 124 Baldwin Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Thursday, June 30, 2005.

Mr. Simoneau was born December 14, 1929 in Laconia, NH, the son of Oscar M. & Jennie (Croteau) Simoneau.

Mr. Simoneau was a life long resident of Laconia and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was employed at Lund’s Ski Factory for twenty-two years, Cote Brothers for ten years and C.C. Vending for ten years, retiring in 1992.

Mr. Simoneau played on the city baseball team, The Laconia Lakers, and played AAA baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals. He started the softball league in Laconia and was a Little League Coach for many years. He was a member of the Laconia Country Club and was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks # 876. Mr. Simoneau was often seen walking his dog, Abby.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of fifty-five years, Geraldine ‘Gerri” (Houle) Simoneau, of Laconia; three sons, Robert Simoneau and his wife, Janice, of Tilton; Peter Simoneau of Nashua and Gary Simoneau and his longtime companion, Barbara Kimball, of Belmont; three grandchildren, Ryan Simoneau of California, Jacquelyn Simoneau and Nicole Simoneau, both of Westford, MA; four sisters, Jean Booska of Laconia, Germaine Provencal of Laconia, Simone Chandronnait of Hudson and Anita Roux of Florida and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene Boucher.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 6:00-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Private burial will be in family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
