Gilford-----Phillip Russo, Jr., 91, of 66 Riley Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, June 5, 2005. He was the widower of Carmela (Bonanno) Russo.

Mr. Russo was born March 7, 1914 in East Boston, MA, the son of Michela (Turco) Russo and Phillip Russo Sr. He was a resident of Reading, Massachusetts before moving to Gilford 1.5 years ago. Mr. Russo was employed at MIT as an experimental machinist for many years.

Mr. Russo was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport, NH. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy.

Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Kazimer of Maine, Angelina Marie Kosloski of Massachusetts, Frances Sansone of Massachusetts, Dolores Young of Washington and Madeleine McCarty of Gilford; thirty-nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three step-sons, Joseph Wilkes of NH, John Wilkes and James Wilkes both of MA; a brother, Salvatore Russo of Texas and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his first wife, Angelina (Cardile) Russo, in 1974; by a son, John Battistone, and by his three siblings, Charles Russo, Joseph Russo and Grace Russo. There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 11:00AM. Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church, will celebrate assisted by Mr. Russo’s son-in-law, Deacon William McCarty.

Burial will follow in the family lot at St. Francis Cemetery, South Weymouth, MA.
