Mildred Hoyt, RN

Laconia-----Mildred L. (St. Pierre) Hoyt, RN, 89, of 435 Union Avenue, died at The Taylor Home on Friday, June 3, 2005. She was the widow of Dr. Willis H. Hoyt who died September 15, 2001.

Mrs. Hoyt was born June 19, 1915, in Danvers, Massachusetts, the daughter of Sevair and Caroline S. (Scheufele) St. Pierre. Mrs. Hoyt graduated from Concord High School, Concord, NH and in 1941, she graduated from the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing, Hanover, NH. She was a Red Cross nurse for twenty-five years. Mrs. Hoyt moved to Laconia in 1947and then in 1952 she moved to Gilford where she lived until 1996 when she moved to The Taylor Home.

Mrs. Hoyt was a member of the Gilford Community Church. She was a volunteer at the Blood bank, foot clinic, Gilford Outing Club and a member of the Lakes Region Community Services Council. She was an avid gardener and baker.

Survivors include two sons, David Jerome Hoyt and his wife, Sandy, of Coventry, CT and Thomas J. Hoyt and his wife, Or, of Gilford and Thailand; a daughter, Katherine H. Thorndike and her husband, Townsend, of Meredith; ten grandchildren, Jamie Connelly of Fort Worth, TX, Mary Watkins on Gilford, Amy Allen of Massachusetts, Michael Hoyt of Bolton, CT, Jennifer Miller of Laconia, Carie Thompson of Northfield, Lisa Thomas of Meredith, Jillian Miner of Coventry, Ct, Kevin Dupont of Laconia and Nicholas Thorndike of Meredith; six great grandchildren, Daylon Thompson of Northfield, Danial Thomas and Stephaine Thomas both of Meredith, Chloe Watkins, of Gilford and Elijah Miller and Katherine Miller both of Laconia; a brother, Walter St. Pierre of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jane Hoyt, and by her siblings, Paul St. Pierre, Stowell St. Pierre, Robert St. Pierre, and Barbara Bass.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246 or to The Taylor Home Community, 435 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH 03246.
