Laconia-----Sharon M. Provencal, 41, of 16 Fairview Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

Sharon was born December 12, 1967 in Laconia, the daughter of Richard F. and Patricia J. (Mansfield) Provencal. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia and was a former resident of the Laconia State School & Training Center and various group homes in the area. She was associated with the Lakes Region Community Services Council.

Sharon was a very happy and friendly person with a sense of humor.

Sharon was a member of the Y. M. C. A. and Special Needs at Play (SNAP) and was a participant in the Special Olympics. She enjoyed snowshoeing, swimming, playing basketball, and cross-country skiing.

Sharon is survived by her father, Richard F. Provencal, of Lakeport; a sister, Bethany L. Childs; four uncles, Jeffry Mansfield, James Mansfield, William Provencal and Michael Provencal; two aunts, Judy Jameson and Jill Coffey; two nephews, Evan Childs and Ian Childs and several cousins. Sharon was predeceased by her mother, Patricia (Mansfield) Provencal, on January 6, 2009.

The family would like to thank Nancy Hood for the longtime care she gave to Sharon.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00AM at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics New Hampshire, 650 Elm Street, Manchester, N.H. 03101.
