Laconia-----Genevieve A. Guidi, 95, formerly of Bishop Brady Apts., died at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Mrs. Guidi was the widow of Luigi “Louis” Guidi who died in 2003.

Mrs. Guidi was born April 19, 1914 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Margaret (Cooney) Hartnett. She lived in East Boston, Mass. for several years before moving to New Hampshire sixty-five years ago.

Mrs. Guidi was a very generous person and enjoyed knitting for the homeless and less fortunate. She had been employed as a nurse’s aide at the Revere Memorial Hospital, Revere, Mass. In 1955, after moving to New Hampshire, she became the Post Mistress for the Town of Gilmanton where she worked for several years.

Mrs. Guidi is survived by one grandson, Louis T. Guidi, of New Hampton; two great grandchildren, Matthew Guidi and Allison Guidi and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Guidi was predeceased by two sons, Richard Guidi in 1978 and James Guidi in 1993.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 9:30-10:30AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

Following the calling hour, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
