Moultonboro-----William H. Ames, Sr., 78, of 17 Charlotte’s Way, died at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2009.

Bill was born March 29, 1931 in Moultonboro, the son of Harold and Charlotte (Wakefield) Ames. He was a lifetime resident of Moultonboro and was owner of William H. Ames Builder.

Bill loved to hunt, fish and play golf. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, J. Patricia ( Maheux) Ames, of Moultonboro; four sons, William H. Ames, Jr. and Gary S. Ames both of Moultonboro, Jeffrey L. Vachon of Laconia and Jonathan P. Vachon of Moultonboro; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by a son, Michael A. Ames, in 1991 and by three brothers, Rolland Ames, Dr. Richard Ames and Arthur McCormack.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of His Life, for family and friends, will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at noon at his son’s, Gary Ames, home at 30 Krainewood Drive, Moultonboro, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N.H. 03247.
