Jane Searle Fisher

Gilford, NH---Jane Searle Fisher, 71, peacefully passed away at the Peabody Home in Franklin, N.H. on Monday, July 21, 2008 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Concord, N.H. to Vernon H. and Catherine S. (Buswell) Fisher, Jane grew up in Andover, where she graduated from high school in 1954.

Jane worked as a legal secretary/administrator at the US Attorney’s office in Concord, N.H. for 15 years and at other various law firms until her retirement in 1997.

A Gilford resident for 15 years, Jane loved the outdoors and gardening, collecting teddy bears and watching her grandchildren grow.  She was an avid cook and loved making homemade jams and jellies for Christmas presents to her family.  There was always a home cooked meal or snacks for any visitor to her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Elinor Fenton, and son, Leslie Paul Fenton, both of Andover, N.H. and daughter, Linda Jane Fenton, of Hollis, N.H.  She leaves behind 6 grandsons, 4 granddaughters-in-law and twin great granddaughters.  She is also survived by her sister, Gail Welch, of Lyman, N.H.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be at the convenience of the family at Proctor Academy Cemetery in Andover, N.H.
