Gilford, NH----Richard George Furbish, Jr. “Ricky Rudd”, 44, of 12 Wildwood Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH, July 3, 2008.

     Rick was born October 28, 1963 in Worcester, Mass. He was raised in Massachusetts and had been a resident of the Lakes Region for the past 14 years.  Rick served in the US Army in Alaska and was the plant manager for Northern Design Pre-cast in Loudon.   

     Rick was a devoted, loving husband and father.  Survivors include his wife, Tricia (Edgar) Furbish, of Gilford; a daughter and son, Natasha and Nathan Furbish, of Gilford; his father, Richard George Furbish, Sr., and his wife, Rose, of Belmont; his mother, Shirley LePage, and her husband, Donald, of Zephyrhills, FL.; 5 brothers, Robert Martin of Laconia, Robert Furbish and his wife, Billy Jo, of Meredith, NH, Jimmy Furbish of Dallas, TX., Donald Martin and his wife, Lisa, of Mendon, MA and Colin LePage of Bradford, MA; 3 sisters, Heidi Sherkanowski and her husband, Chris, of Gilford, Heather Dubeshter and her husband, Alan, of Natick, MA and Sharon LePage of CA.; several nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces; other family and close friends, William & Catherine Edgar, Robert and Donna Curran, Carol and Norman Daigle, William and Debbie Curran and Butch and Judy Taggart, all of Gilford, Gene and Debbie Brewer of Wolfeboro, Michael and Kathi Marden of Laconia and many other loved ones.   

     Rick was a member of the Wilkins-Smith American Legion Post #1 of Laconia, a member of the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge #32 F. & A.M.

     Rick was a youth football coach. He enjoyed New England Sports, Patriots, Red Sox and the Celtics. He loved NASCAR. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting, golfing, fishing and spending time at his camp in Pittsburg, NH.    

      Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance of the Funeral Home.

      Services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10 AM at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford. The Rev. Michael Graham, pastor of the church, will officiate.

  Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center Road, Meredith. 

         In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ricky “Rudd” Furbish Fund, c/o Laconia Savings Bank, 62 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
