Robert G. Masters

Reno, Nevada ---- Robert G. Masters, 57, of 5100 Wayside Road, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH on Thursday, July 19, 2007 from complications of acute pancreatitis.

Rob was born November 28, 1949 in Newport News, Virginia.  He served in the U. S. Marines and lived in California for thirty-five years.  He was employed by the City of Newport Beach, CA for sixteen years as a Public Works Inspector and City Archaeologist, retiring in March, 2005.

Rob was a member of the Orange County American Research Center in Egypt, MENSA, Intertel, the Loyal Order of Elks in Garden Grove, CA and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Newport Beach, CA.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Carney) Masters (NV); a son, Christopher M. Masters (NC);  his stepmother, Sandra M. Masters (FL); a stepdaughter, Debra A. Coddington (NH); a step son-in-law, David Coddington (NH);  two step grandchildren, Ashley and James Coddington (NH);  five brothers, Melvin Masters, Jr (IL), John Masters (IL), Joseph Masters (Germany), Michael Masters  (WA), William Masters (IL); two sisters, Patricia McCaslin (FL) and Janet Masters (IL); a stepsister, Niki Lee (IL) and several nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his father, Melvin Masters, Sr, in 2006; by a brother, Ronald Masters (1992); and by a sister, Dee Ann Jaffe (1981).

A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
