James E. Denis

Claremont------James E. Denis, 59, of 23 Franklin Street, died in Newport, N. H. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007.

Mr. Denis was born March 9, 1948 in Claremont, N. H., the son of Norman M. and Eunice R. (Thibault) Denis.  He was raised in Claremont and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. 

Mr. Davis served in the U. S. Navy in Vietnam. 

Mr. Denis lived in Laconia for over thirty years before moving back to Claremont in June, 2006.  He was owner of the James Denis Cleaning Service.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Mr. Denis was a member of the Laconia Jaycees, the L. I. H. A., the Winnipesaukee Squares and a former grange member.

Survivors include his wife, Marion (Maxfield) Denis, of Laconia, N. H.;  two stepsons, Michael Patten of Utah and James Patten of Kansas; a stepdaughter, Kathy Zajchowski of Meredith, N. H.; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his mother, Eunice Denis, of Claremont, N. H.; two brothers, Stephen Denis of Claremont, N.H. and Richard Denis of West Lebanon, N. H.; two sisters, Linda Schneider of Maryland and Mary Ellen Mega of Rhode Island and several nephews and nieces.  Mr. Denis was predeceased by his father, Norman M. Denis, by a brother, John Denis, and by a sister, Anne Perra.

A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N. H.

Following the calling hour, a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, also at Sacred Heart Church, by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will be at a later date in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Manchester, N.H. Office, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, N. H. 03101 or to the New England K-9 Search and Rescue, Attn:  Nancy Lyon, 63 Shaker Street, New London, N. H. 03257.
