Norvin Laubenstein

Laconia-----Norvin Laubenstein, 92, of 10 Magnolia Lane, died at the St. Francis Healthcare Center, on Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Laubenstein was born July 8, 1913 in Maynard, MA, the son of George and Anna (Gottlieb) Laubenstein. Mr. Laubenstein was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII.

Mr. Laubenstein resided in Laconia for many years and was the manager of the Woolworth Store for fifty years, retiring in 1980. He was the past president of the Laconia Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Landsdowne) Laubenstein, of Laconia; two sons, Alan Laubenstein of Lexington, MA and Mark Laubenstein of Kingston, MA; two daughters, Jane Follett of Meredith, NH and Kristin Akinkugbe of London, England; seven grandchildren, Tami, Derek, Brett, Dana, Kimberly Connor and Dapo; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Khamden and Isaiah; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Karl Laubenstein and Jon Laubenstein; by a brother, Karl Laubenstein and by a sister, Edith Underwood.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Meredith, NH. The Rev. Robin Soller, Rector of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in the Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center, NH.
