Gerard "Jerry" Anthony Turner

Tilton-----Gerard “Jerry” Anthony Turner, 84, formerly of 22 Kayla Drive, Belmont, died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Mr. Turner was the widower of Helen (Rogers) Turner who died October 15, 2005.

Jerry was born June 12, 1924 in Waltham, Mass., the son of Charles T. & Marian B (Trecartin) Turner.

Jerry served in the U. S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Philadelphia.

Jerry lived in Dobson, North Carolina for several years before returning to Belmont in 2002. He was employed at Raytheon for thirty-six years as a design draftsman engineer, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Sanbornton Congregational Church and a member of its choir and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Franklin.

Jerry is survived by two sons, David Turner of Maysville, GA and Raymond Turner of Mt. Airy, NC; three daughters, Janice Degulis of Hudson, Susan Turner of Stoneham, MA and Christine Wilt of Salisbury, MA; two stepsons, John Wilby of Manchester, NH and Roger Wilby of Oceanside, CA, two stepdaughters, Carol Agrella of Nashua and Deb Vining of Acton, ME, five grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Sanbornton Congregational Church UCC, 21 Meeting House Hill Road, Sanbornton, NH Rev. Patrice Borst Ficken, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH 03276 or to the Sanbornton Congregational Church UCC, PO Box 126, Sanbornton, NH 03269-0126.
