Laconia-----Patricia J. (Mansfield) Provencal, 64, of 74 Belvidere Street, Lakeport, died at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Mass. on January 6, 2009.

Mrs. Provencal was born November 21, 1944 in Massena, New York, the daughter of Herbert “Bud” L. and Fay H. (Sharlow) Mansfield. Mrs. Provencal moved from Massena to Laconia, N.H. over sixty years ago.

Mrs. Provencal was a member of the Weirs United Methodist Church. She was a Brownie troop leader, Ward 6 Selectman for the City of Laconia for many years and was an organizer for Special Needs At Play and other activities for the developmentally disabled. She actively volunteered at local area schools.

Mrs. Provencal was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Richard F. Provencal; two daughters, Bethany L. Childs and Sharon M. Provencal; two grandchildren, Evan and Ian Childs; two brothers, Jeffry Mansfield and James Mansfield; two sisters, Judy Jameson and Jill Coffey and four nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Provencal was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 7:00-9:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Weirs United Methodist Church, 35 Tower Street, Weirs Beach, NH. Pastor Sandy Rehe, pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 998 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
