Belmont---Albert R. Libby, Jr., 66, of 25 Lamprey Road, Belmont passed away at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2009 after a long battle with cancer.

Albert was born January 28, 1942 in Woburn, Mass., the son of Marion C. (Anderson) and Albert R. Libby, Sr.

Albert had many careers; the Marines, B&M Railroad, Laconia Shoe, NH Ballbearing for 28 years and before he passed, he worked with his daughter at the Laconia Federal Building as a maintenance mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joanne (Hill) Libby, of Belmont; a daughter, Lisa Moulton, and her husband, Kevin, of Laconia; 2 sons, David Libby and his wife, Darlene, of Belmont and Ronald Shampney and his fiancée, Mechele, of Laconia; his beloved grandchildren, David (D.J.) Ellis, Theresa and Kristopher Moulton and Anthony Abbott; his beloved sister, Martha Bell, of Tamworth and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 3 sisters, Janet Heath, Barbra Townsend and Henrietta Newton.

Per request of Albert, there will be no funeral or wake.

Albert so much wanted anyone who wishes, to join his family at Tardif Park, 51 Crescent Street, Laconia on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM for a celebration of his life. This was planned by Albert and his daughter.

It was Albert’s wish that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Laconia High School Band, P.O. Box 165 Laconia, NH 03247.

The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.
