Irma L. Fisk
Send a condolence note

Holderness----Irma L. Fisk, 92, of Route 3, Holderness, died peacefully Saturday morning January 31 surrounded by loving family.

Born in Lockhart, SC to Boyd and Bernice Underwood, she attended school in Clinton, SC before accepting a governess position in Atlanta, GA with the Drs. Kaiser family. They summered in Tamworth where she met her future husband, Harrison S. Fisk of North Sandwich and were married in 1941 in Atlanta by her brother, Boyd Underwood, a Presbyterian minister. They resided in Center Sandwich then moved to Rochester, NY where Harrison was employed by Eastman Kodak and Irma pursued her quest of homemaker extraordinaire - lovingly attending to her home, children, gardens, birds, sewing, upholstering and cooking. They retired to West Dennis, MA on Cape Cod in 1971 and returned to New Hampshire in 1983.

A gentle and gracious spirit, she inspired and encouraged everyone she met. She is survived by two daughters – Ellen B. Fisk of Union Springs, NY and Melanie J. Fisk of Holderness – and six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a nephew and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Douglas, in 1978 and her husband, Harrison, in 2000.

There are no calling hours and, at her request, no funeral service. Instead, there will be a celebration of Irma and Harrison when a reunion of extended family and friends can be arranged.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. is in charge of the arrangements.
