Anne Tatakes

Concord-----Anne Tatakes, 87, of 19 Pistaqua Road, died at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen, N.H., on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.

Mrs. Tatakes was born July 28, 1922 in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Orphanos) Tsakiris. She was a longtime resident of Laconia and was owner along with her husband of Jimmy’s Bakery for several years.

Mrs. Tatakes was a member of the Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed sewing, reading, shopping and cooking.

Mrs. Tatakes is survived by her husband of 61 years, James E. Tatakes; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Daniel Blodgett, and two grandchildren, Melissa Blodgett and Alexander Blodgett, all of Concord; a great grandson, Aiden Blodgett, of Pittsburgh, Penn.; two brothers, George Tsakiris of Rochester and Peter Tsakiris of Lakeport and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tatakes was predeceased by a son, Thomas A. Tatakes in 1991.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church, 811 North Main Street, Laconia, N.H. Fr. Agathonikos Wilson will officiate.
Private family burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ladies Philoptochos Society, PO Box 86, Laconia, N.H. 03247-0086.
