Alice Sykie

Laconia-----Alice Sykie, 75, of 103 Water Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.

Alice was born July 7, 1934 in Somerset, New Jersey, the daughter of Julia (Svouchwich) Sykie. She resided in Belmont for several years before moving to Laconia five years ago.

Alice loved life, her family, her dog, ‘Star”, the outdoors and helping to deliver the Laconia Citizen with her niece, Juanita “Mom”.

Alice is survived by three nephews and four nieces, Becky Eveleth and her husband, Bill, of Wakefield, Marcia Roulard and her husband, Mike, of Twin Mountain, John Sykie, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Charlestown, David Sykie and his wife, Sally, of Gilmanton, Juanita Baker of 103 Water St, Laconia, Lenora Baud and her husband, Richard, of Wakefield and Daren Sykie and his wife, Heidi, of Alton; twenty grand nephews and nieces and twenty-one great grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her mother, Julia Sykie Humphry, her brother, John J. Sykie, Sr. and a sister-in-law, June R. Sykie.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 3:00PM at the Heritage Free Will Baptist Church, 349 Meredith Center Road, Laconia, N.H. Rev. Joel Nason, Pastor of the church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in New Riverside Cemetery, Alton, N.H.
