Richard P. Stitt

Belmont-----Richard P. Stitt, 57, of 58 Randlett St. #2, died at his home on Sunday, January 10, 2010.
Mr. Stitt was born March 11, 1952 in Laconia, the son of Margaret (Werzanski) and Robert G. Stitt. He was a lifetime resident of the Lakes Region and was a self-employed painter for many years and an automobile salesman for twelve years, retiring in 2001.

Mr. Stitt was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia. He was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul and at the Laconia Salvation Army. He was an avid Beatles Fan and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Stitt is survived by his mother, Margaret Ellinger, of Laconia; his father, Robert G. Stitt and his wife, Alberta, of Belmont; a brother, Charles Stitt and his wife, Patricia, of Gilford; two sisters, Linda Kennard and her husband, Timothy, of Weare and Margaret Brady and her husband, Dennis, of Laconia; two half brothers, Patrick Stitt and Johnathan Ellinger, both of Laconia; a step brother, Harold Brown, of Meredith; a step sister, Dodie Smithers, of Gilmanton; several nephews and nieces and his best friend, Lynn Roy, of Franklin. He was predeceased by two brothers, Michael E. Stitt and Robert J. Stitt, Sr.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00PM.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, PO Box 6123, Laconia, N. H. 03247 or to the Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Avenue, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
