John Francis Glennon

Laconia-----John Francis Glennon, 59, died at the Concord Hospital on Monday, January 18, 2010. He was the widower of Maureen (Browne) Glennon.

Mr. Glennon was born November 27, 1950 in Winchester, Mass., the son of Charles T. and Barbara (Munro) Glennon. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War

Mr. Glennon grew-up in Arlington, Mass for several years before moving to Laconia over twenty years ago. He was employed by New England Telephone Co. for twenty years, retiring in 1994. After his retirement, he was employed at McGreevy Automotive.

Mr. Glennon was a member of the Laconia Country Club.

Mr. Glennon is survived by a son, John F. Glennon, Jr.; by a stepson, Ryan Robinson; two daughters, Beth McCarthy and Kimberly Glennon; a stepdaughter, Lindsay Robinson; two grandchildren, Connor McCarthy and Shannon McCarthy; four brothers, Allen Glennon, Robert Glennon, Mark Glennon and David Glennon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Glennon was predeceased by his parents, by a brother, Charles Glennon and by a sister, Barbara Glennon.

Family calling hours will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:00AM by Rev. Marc Drouin.

Burial will be on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 3:00PM in the family lot in Manomet Cemetery, Plymouth, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the WLNH Children’s Auction PO Box 7326, Gilford, NH 03249 or to Children’s Hospital Boston, 1 Autumn St. #731, Boston, MA 02215.
