Marguerite (Carbee) Smith Send a condolence note

Laconia-----Marguerite (Carbee) Smith, 56, of 46 Batchelder Street, peacefully passed away, with her husband at her side, on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.

Marguerite was born in Manchester, N. H. to Clyde H. Carbee, Jr. and Gertrude (Chartier) Carbee.

Marguerite had made Laconia her home for 21 years.  In this time, she was employed by the Laconia Spa on Church St. and had worked the past 8 years at Lakes Region General Hospital. 

Marguerite was a woman who loved being outside in nature, whether it was to watch the wild birds or to work in her vegetable and flower gardens.

After 46 years, she found the man she would marry and at times you could find them casting a line at their favorite “sunlit pool”, or maybe taking a quiet drive together up north to check out the antiques.

Those who have had the privilege of knowing her called her “Peggy”.  She was a beautiful, caring person with a genuine heart and soul.  She truly was a blessing to us all and we loved her dearly.

Marguerite is survived by her husband and best friend, Dennis Smith; her son, David J. Carbee, his wife, Sherry, and 3 step-grandchildren, Ashley, Shayne and Adam; 2 brothers, Clyde Carbee, his wife, Presha, and their children, Stephanie and Nathan; Dean Carbee and his wife, Dawn, and 1 sister, Pamela Carbee, and her children, Christopher and Elizabeth.  She is also survived by the father of her children, Roger Beaudet.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Regina Anne Carbee, and her parents, Gertrude Leona Marie Cox and Clyde Hiram Carbee, Jr.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte 101 Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
