Walter E. DeHart Send a condolence note

Laconia-----Walter E. DeHart, 86, of 25 Union Avenue and formerly of Old Lake Shore Road, Gilford died at the Saint Francis Healthcare Center on Saturday, January 5, 2008.

Mr. DeHart was born April 23, 1921 in Laconia, N. H., the son of  Louis A. and Florence (Bockus) DeHart.  He lived most of his life in Gilford and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Laconia.

Mr. DeHart served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a decorated War Veteran.  He was employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital for twenty years before retiring in 1981 and later worked at Annalee Dolls, Inc.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Athaline A. (Lemire) DeHart of Laconia, N. H., two sons, Walter A. DeHart of Auburn, N. H. and Glen E. DeHart of Belmont, N. H.; two grandchildren, Jeremy DeHart of Belmont, N. H. and Seth DeHart of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Thelma Nault of Canterbury, N. H. and Marian Fecteau of Laconia, N. H. and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. DeHart was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Tardy, and by two brothers, George DeHart and Norman DeHart.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N. H. by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
