Norman J. Lord Send a condolence note

Belmont----Norman J. Lord, 67, of 82 Concord Street, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, January 7, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Lord was born January 22, 1940 in Laconia, N. H, the son of Malvina (Parent) Cherrette and Norman Lord.  

Mr. Lord was a lifetime resident of Belmont.  He was employed at Cormier Hosiery in Belmont and Laconia for twenty years and then was employed at Aavid Engineering for twenty years, retiring in 1996.  He was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish.

Mr. Lord loved to travel especially to Reno, Nevada and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He enjoyed collecting lighted art scenery.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Stockbridge) Matthews Lord, of Belmont; a son, Robert O. Lord, of Belmont; his mother, Malvina Cherrette, of Belmont; a granddaughter, Tori Lord; two stepsons, Edward Matthews of Gilford and Jeffrey Matthews of Laconia; three stepdaughters, Donna Matthews of Goffstown, Tracey Fry of Meredith and Terry Matthews Clayton of Meredith; twelve step grandchildren, Amanda Cribley, Christopher DeWare, Jennifer Nelson, Kia Matthews, Aaron Matthews, Nicole Fry, Melissa Fry, Britney Fry, Darlene Matthews, Brian Burns, Meagan Clayton and Brooke Matthews; three great grandchildren; his first wife, Bernice “Bunny” Morrissette, of Belmont; an aunt, Margaret Parent, of Belmont and an uncle, Ledger Parent, also of Belmont and several cousins.  In addition to his father, Mr. Lord was predeceased by three uncles, Oliver, Henry and Harry Parent and by an aunt, Blanche Monroe. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2007 from 3:00-5:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January14, 2008 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N. H.  

Spring burial will be in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, N. H.
