Laconia---Ralph A. Young, 70, a former long time resident of Laconia and of Riverside RV Park, Site 222, 9770 SW County Rd. 769, Arcadia, FL 34265, died at the Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte FL. January 1, 2006.

Mr. Young was born November 7, 1935 in Rumford, Maine, the son of Ralph A. and Alice (Badershall) Young. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been a resident of Laconia since 1968 coming from Yarmouth, Maine. He was a Vice President of Northern-Peabody, Inc. in Laconia for many years retiring in 1998 after 30 years.

Mr. Young was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, the Belknap Snowmobilers Club and the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post # 1 of Laconia. He was also a member of the Escapees R.V. Club, Good Sam Club, the Holiday Rambler Motor Coach Club and the Family Motor Coach Club.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Labbe) Young, of Arcadia, FL; 2 sons, Steven D. Young of Anchorage, Alaska and R. Andrew Young of Boulder, Colorado; 4 daughters, Sharon L. Young of Gilford, NH, Jean White of Rochester, VT, Susan A. Young of Berkeley, Calif. and Theresa M. Young of Center Conway, NH; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Young, of Essex Junction, VT; a sister, Marion Hale, of Punta Gorda, FL and many nephews and nieces. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Beatrice Theriault and Louise St. Clair.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

Spring burial will be in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Lodge of Elks Scholarship Fund, PO Box 676, Laconia, NH 03247 or Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
