Canterbury-----Betsy T. Cook, 57, of 23 Battis Crossing Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, January 9, 2005 after a long battle with diabetes.

Mrs. Cook was born May 28, 1947 in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Emily M. (Tibert) Morgan. She lived in Gilford, NH for many years and was a graduate of Laconia High School. She graduated from Simmons College in Boston, MA and later graduated from Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH where she received her Master?s Degree in Special Education.

She had been a resident of Canterbury for the past thirteen years and was a teacher at Spaulding Youth Center, Northfield, NH until she retired to provide care for her dad.

Mrs. Cook was a member of the United Baptist Church, Lakeport and of the United Community Church, Canterbury. She was a former Sunday school teacher at both churches and was the former Sunday school director at the United Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cook enjoyed motorcycles, shopping, socializing, card playing, croquet and traveling and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Cook, of Canterbury; a stepson, James M. Cook, of Belmont, NH; a stepdaughter, Tracy Swartz, of Walbridge, Ohio; two grandchildren, Theodore Swartz and Elizabeth Swartz, both of Walbridge, Ohio and an aunt, Dorothea Morgan of Wakefield, NH. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an aunt, Ruth Miller.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 2:00PM at the United Baptist Church, Park Street, Lakeport, NH. Light refreshments to follow the service at the Church.
